The architectural and urban character varies considerably across the Conservation Area and has evolved over a long period of time. The initial notion of this projects was was to refurbish this 19th century Victorian semi-detached house and to transform the attic space into a family room along with a rear extension to provide dinning and living space.
During the course of the construction period, the client came up with a desire to convert the basement into a guest bed with en-suite bathroom and utility space. Large panels of roof-light were added to improve the daylight to the ground floor. The second floor was designed as a library plus reading hall, whilst the third floor was designed as a nursery.
