This holiday home design was guided by the client’s vision of creating a humble, cottage-style retreat for their family’s getaways. The design aims to balance simplicity and comfort, embracing a calm, unpretentious aesthetic that blends easily with the natural surroundings.
The architectural form is modest yet refined — low, clean rooflines and a courtyard arrangement that feels both intimate and open. The use of muted tones, paired with warm timber highlights, reinforces the relaxed coastal character while maintaining durability for year-round use.
Native planting, a soft landscape palette, and the integration of natural light further enhance the sense of ease and connection to place — a contemporary take on the Australian cottage, crafted to nurture family memories across generations.
